It is not a bad tool at all. You need to upgrade the tool to the payed version to unlock the advanced features. And after registration of this free version they will spam you. Which is why I uninstalled it and are now (happily) using Glary Utilities. To get access to advanced features you need to upgrade to the payed version. And if you want to use this tool in this "freeware" version you will still need to register it at their website. After registration though they will start spamming you with e-mails advertising their different products. Not just one mail a month, but many. This is why I switched to Glary Utilities, which does the same job and a bit more, without spamming you.

"You can learn about Windows as you use it." Details of everything including "what exactly are you going to do". You do not require it if you know your way around Windows. For most of the tasks there are free individual programs available. More useful than System Mechanic. If you have to have one this is it.

"super easy to use and the price is right" it has just about every function needed to maximize performance of my PC haven't fully explored but can't seem to find noticeable improvements from version 4 - will keep trying to find the differences I certainly like this product and will probably continue to purchase upgrades

WinOptimizer allows you to tweak practically every part of your computer and even performs optimizations automatically if you are not sure of what to set a specific area to. Very user-friendly interface good for the novice and techy as well. I really can't think of any. I have used numerous applications of this sort and WinOptimizer provides more helpful features in more areas than any other. I especially like features like the automatic defragmenting of files during idle times. What a time-saver! It allows you to manualy or automatically tweak every part of your computer from email to internet connection. It creates back-ups in case you make an incorrect setting and even warns you when you are in areas that you should allow the software to adjust if you're not confident of what to do. And to keep things simple, the software has a one-click optimization buttion . With features like that and the automatic monitoring and defragging in the background you can keep your computer up-to-date, cleaned-up, and running at optimal performance with little or no effort on your part. I highly recommend this product and doubt that you can find another system optimizer, at this or higher prices, that will provide the same depth and quality of control as Ashampoo WinOptimizer 6.50.

"Was good but not any more" Great on XP It worked great on xp but its not good on windows7. I used it for games defragment but instead of defragmenting it leaves empty space eaven if there wasent any. Its no good for defragmenting windows7,windows7 defragmenter is better for windows hdd The Full scan optimizer makes much errors and disk defragment is horible.Its most defenetlu no good for Win7

"Ashampoo is a spam factory." Minimal performance Don't go anywhere near Ashampoo unless you love spam. This company will bombard you with spam forever. You cannot opt out of it.

"another good ashampoo product" excelent for quick clean up especially registry. all modules seem to work well with XP operating system doesn't seem to have kept up with changing operating systems. does not work as well on windows 7 and is slightly slower program could do with a little 'tweeking' to be more appropriate to the new aperating system, but would still recomend it especially for XP or lower.

nothing that I can find so far WinOptimizer6 appears to have significantly downgraded my computer Since installing, many program freezes.1. Firefox freezes and message that another firefox already running. Not true as shown in taskmaster, but restart required.2. trying to reply on internet often gives "stopped at bottom of page and "running" at top.Your link to this page did not work, it froze.3. my firewall often does not run on startup and needs a manual start There are numerous other problems giving program freezes, or problems. All these problems are new and did not occur pre WinOptimizer6. My system: XP Pro SP3, core 2 duo; 2GB Ram: ADSL. Any ideas why? I am seriously considering dumping WinOptimizer 6. "Excellent product" Simple to use easy to navigate to the various tools no drama does what it says on the box Haven't found any to date So easy to use with a pleasing interface which is changeable it really is a great bit of software like most Ashampoo products my computer is all the better for it
