This program is Shareware, not freeware. It offers a 10 day trial. Searching for clips was extremely easy. Unfortunately most of the clips when downloaded were unplayable and a bunch of the clips seemed to have the same content as each other (same clip over and over with different names).

"Ashampoo is a Serios German, sofware company!" Well this sofware is very good, i find the form to use it like the other previous versions! well it have hq, hi definition, the only thing is the use of mp4 files!

"Fun to browse - but search logic disappoints!" The best feature is being able to browse so many video suites at once. More importantly, the player works well for the sites I've tested.The display is a gorgeous and fun to manipulate. 15 web sites is still not enough. Many major sites are missing, including Hulu.com. When you're in a hurry, you wish the interface were less like a WW I flying game. Fun to browse - but search logic disappoints!The videos found probably have some relationship to the search terms, but I couldn't guess what half of them are. If you need a specific videos, try BING or Google.

"Doesn't work well with several video sites" Downloads well from many video sites Doesn't work too well with youtube and several mothers I was looking for specific videos on youtube, videos I had just watched. ClipFinder HD 2.06 didn't show them. So, I download Clip Extractor Basic (free) and got the files I looked for converted to avi automatically.

You can check several video sources at one time for specific video information. I haven't been able to get wild cards to work in searching. Program is not setup to look for general categories. It is very specific. The program is great! Stop wading though thousands of mindless videos when you are looking of information on a specific subject. This program will search several video sources at the same time for the videos that you are looking for. I've found it very useful for searching for "How-To" and instructional videos. I used this program to find lots of instructional videos out there which I did not know existed.

"A great way to find and download video clips" It finds what you want and It's easy to use. And you can't beat the price. It tends to present an overload of data. I think an option to set the size of the video preview somewhat larger and being able to select a tabbed interface with a tab for each site would make this program more visually appealing. Overall, it's an excellent program for a freebee. highly recommended.

Spectacular viewer/downloader! Great interface and features, auto-updates, great tech support. Ashampoo is a great software company and this is a great example of their work. And it's FREE! Golly - I can't think of any! I've used the earlier version (non-HD) since it first came out; there were some difficulties with earlier releases, but they worked all that out. This HD version is simply spectacular. It has an interface similar to the Cooliris one, easily control the displayed thumbs with the mouse; up/down, larger/smaller, plays flawlessly, handles the downloads flawlessly, remembers your passwords to sites for quick access; is skinned; and while you can't choose which video sources it lists, it lists so many that your search is bound to have thousands of results. There are some strange selections, like the vidU and clipfish; one has the same ads no matter what you search for, and the other is mostly empty on my seqrches, but it's all good and it's FREE! If you don't have this one, you're missing out on THE BEST video player and more importantly DOWNLOADER in the world. Yes, I love this program, and yes I love Ashampoo, and no, I have no connection with them, they just do great software.

Finding and downloading videos very fast. Even though I set my parameters to exclude certian types of vids it downloads them anyway. It's good for what it does but check your downloads.
