AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

"Nunja", what the hell are you talking about? Do you use any kind of Barbie antivirus? get off... AAAAwesome player, the best since Winamp.

Nunja ... don't know where you are finding the virus, but my up-to-date virus scanner gives this a totally clean bill of health. Evidently you are getting a false positive. This is a wonderful application. It works well and does a lot of things other similar applications will not do. However, I do not recommend that an inexperienced user, or one that is not willing to experiment with it to find out what it will do try to use this one. It can be difficult to figure out what to do. If you are one of the above, try Spider Player or Screamer. They, too, are excellent but easier to use. For me, this application is a 5. For the inexperienced, it would be a 3, maybe a 4.

5/5 - best audio player for me, and awesome default skin ;p @ Richardky - get better antivirus like Kaspersky, NOD, G-DATA or Avira...

This version and the one before it (v2.60 Build 499 RC1) after a random time after being launched tries to contact 007guard.com a known mailware web site as shown by Outpost Security Suite Pro. Version 2.50 did not have this 'bonus' included. Was a good player, but now worthless with the malware included.

Some kind of wierdness with Firefox. Scrolling causes a lag in streaming audio, and there's apparently no help file in English. Can't be bothered fussing about with it. Might switch back to Winamp.

Great player. This version seems to be missing Audio Converter, though.

Virtual_ManPL Reviewing 2.60 Build 499 RC1 (Sep 18, 2009) 5/5 - best audio player for me, and awesome default skin ;p @ Richardky - get better antivirus like Kaspersky, NOD, G-DATA or Avira... (*I use NOD and dont have a problem with AIMP its a great app .. you must mean this towards - NunjaBusiness Reviewing 2.60 Build 497 Beta 4 (Sep 7, 2009) Have you recompiled this version WITHOUT the W32/Induc.A virus? I used to love this program, but getting a virus from a trusted application is the worst kind of letdown. BTW, the download link is no good.*) (* i agree needs to get a better antivirus .. nothing personal .. still my default player no problems at all. *)

Small, uses little resources, sounds great, and the interface can be customized. I can't really think of any reason why not to like this app; however, there is one request I have of the author. I have been using XMPlay for a very long time because I have been unable to find anything that performs as well as it does on as few resources. I have now switched to AIMP because it does perform as well as XMPlay while not using a whole lot of resources.. However, there are some features that XMPlay has that AIMP does not that I miss. The only one I know of at this time is the ability to remove music files that have already played; this is essential for me when I use random play and want to know how more files are left to play. So if possible, please add the ability to remove files that have already played to the remove menu. Thanks.

OK I guess I was wrong. Scrolling in Firefox causes streaming lag in WMP too. Hmm. Could still use an English language help file though. Otherwise it's very light and speedy, looks good, and hey, it plays music.

Does this thing still try to contact and download stuff from 007guard.com? I'll update my rating if this program doesn't do that anymore.

Speed - it's like 5x faster than winamp, and uses 5x less resources. Interface desing - few little imporvements that brigns Aimp on higher level than winamp. Simplicity, stability.... Utillities... Can't say realy about them, i fell in love with this program first time i used him... and that would be 2 years ago maybe more. Only one can be that he's not calling Winamp. I'm horified that cnet didn't notice Aimp earlier! Shame on you:P AImp is everything what Winamp was long time ago and with what Winamp get world fame and reputation (then he turns on dark side). People can't realise that Winamp can have alternative, so am i two years ago. And truly i don't know why i even gived aimp chance, but i didn't wrong.

Decent player (option-wise), yet the sound when Equalizer is enabled and presets are used leaves something to be desired -- when compared to WinAmp 2.95 and various comparable presets AIMP sounds tinny. Minor Flaws: (-) Unable to move the Equalizer from its left/right position (cannot be put underneath the main player). (-) The TagList Editor cannot resize the FileList (which only shows a couple files) vs the huge amount of space taken up (below) for showing File Details + Cover Art. (-) Inability to customize the Main Player's spectrum analyzer (Thin Bands, Dropoff, Firemode, etc etc.) (-) Bitrate display is constant (average): no display update for VBR files. Personal Preferences: Prefer Winamp's customizable Windowshade mode: which can windowshade each gui element (player, playlist, equalizer...). Major Flaws: (-) Sound (Equalizer) is worse than WinAmp (2.95) from 2003 (Especially noticeable with the "Rock" preset among others). (-) Very Limited Visualization options, and no customization. The Good: (+) The player itself looks good. (+) Functionally it works well, and the interface is intuitive. (+) Tabs for playlists. Perhaps it's bad presets, but there's definitely something wrong with the sound when the Equalizer is used. This would be a very competitive player if at least the sound issue was resolved. For now I'll stick with WinAmp 2.95 and J.River's Media Jukebox 12 (some of the coolest visualizations I've seen). Perhaps users don't care much about Visualization options, but the lack of options and customization in that area make this player seem incomplete to me.

@ Balderstrom - write to developer about this ideas, maybe in the future releases dev team will add someone you mentioned ;) for me 5/5 but like you mentioned I miss resizing everything like I want ;p

"Fantastic. Skin, Editor Tag. Equalizer, all perfect" Equalizer, Skin, Editor Tag, Vizualition, Memory Use are the most important items of this software. Perfect substitute of the late Musicmatch 10. The most important musicplayer launched in the last years. Nothing, it
