AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

@ roj - hmm... OK I'm not alfa and omega ;) but your knowledge is more like audiophile, not true tests or data... and QUALITY will be the same what many test proved... see hydrogenaudio or other forums to see comparison... IMO I have good speakers too... Genius SP-HF2.0 3000A on Asus Xonar ;) P.S. And learn to write my nick properly... ;)

nappyhead, the format converter is still there but you have to hunt it out in the download beta page. i use it too, very convenient, but it's lost its context menu aspect which is a shame.

For the last few releases, I've noticed that some of the older componants are gone, such as the format converter. Was wondering if it's just me or is this no longer an option. I liked being able to convert my FLAC files to mp3 for my player.

AIMP is a very capable player. ---------------------------------------- This website would be pleasant to visit if more people would review software instead of each other. Go ahead boys, have at it!. I won't be here to read it.

taking conversion tools out of the package is a BERY VAD MOOBE. really, it doesn't feel so top-of-the-line as before.

@nappyhead - when you go to the site and the download section for the new beta, its at the bottom of the page, below the russian writing section this is my go to player, not perfect, but better than others. the only frustrating thing is how new bugs tend to creep into the betas

I started using this about a month ago due to positive reviews here. Up until no I have been using winamp almost exclusively. Winamp is now off my systems, yes sure there are somethings winamp has that this doesn't, but when it comes down to the main issue - playing music files at a good sound quality winamp is beaten by this easily,

Excellent Audio Player. Highly recommended. For those who can't find the AIMP2 Tools (AudioConverter & Recorder) which are no longer bundled with the main download, they can be found here: http://www.aimp.ru/forum...13461.msg66454#msg66454

A very good player, but not enough to sway me away from foobar2000.

Great program, it's now my default music player; there are lots of great skins around if you look. I’ve never had any issues with it unlike some bloated program I could name. (Winamp/Windows Media Player - Eeeeeek)

Excellent. And it has both Shoutcast and Icecast streams for your listening pleasure. As a first time user with bad eyes, i found it a bit difficult to figure out all the controls, but that just takes a little time. And a really big plus (if you can find the control) is that it will record streams. Of course, this must be done manually. As far as i can tell, there is no way to record automatically or on a schedule ... but what do you want for free?

Have you recompiled this version WITHOUT the W32/Induc.A virus? I used to love this program, but getting a virus from a trusted application is the worst kind of letdown. BTW, the download link is no good.
