AIMP 2.60.551

AIMP by Artem Izmaylov Screenshot AIMP Screenshot

AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

Everything - Works with ease!! Extremely minor - Strange installation, but more than worth the wait! Exceptional, simple playlist construction/ modification, file transfer to offshore devices. *Extensive* radio lists. Rapid, smooth file queing. All else seems incredibly clunky. Beautiful sound. Blows every other player out of the water!

Great interface, lots of features, 32-bit sound Limited library management, overly aggresive sound Aimp 2 is a runner-up to Spider Player. The interface is better than Spider Player and it has more features. Both players feature 32-bit sound. But it doesn't sound as good as Spider Player. Why? The EQ. Equalizers introduce phase shift and distortion. Aimp 2 offers 18 bands of EQ as opposed to Spider Player's 10. The only way I can listen to Aimp 2 is if the EQ is run flat. It's still a better product than Windows Media Player 12, but where EQ is concerned, less is more. For me, the poorly designed EQ limits its usefulness.

I totally agree with ROJ AIMP is not giving a quality sound output, as much as I've searched for plugins. it's all nice and light, but when a sound program has sound quality issues, it makes itself obsolete - wouldn't you agree? ) nice for amature music playing - yes for music lovers - no

FINALLY enters the modern era with WASAPI / ASIO / DirectSound support. Well done. NOW it's worth considering. FOUR stars.

I just tried this and it's pretty good. For some reason though, it didn't work with one of my Winamp DSP plugins, Enhancer. Other than that, I do notice improvement in the sound, which is always good. Definitely not fond of the new skins that I saw, so hopefully, they'll revert back to using the ones from v.2. I love it, but it has bugs that need to be corrected before I fully upgrade to v. 3. Other than that, it's pretty good. AIMP deserves more credit than it gets, as a media player. Definitely recommend this one.

The great one! An excellent prplacement to the over-bloated Winamp.

Rated 50/50 by SuzzyWoozy at Dec 23, 2010

no problems here, working great as usual - including the Enhancer. Actually, I;ve moved from WinAmp to AIMP just because of this plug-in :)) Edit: my mistake djb247365, I was wrong: the DSP Plugins are not working (yet!)

Very adaptable, many great settings, really makes a difference in the sound quality! Haven't found any except I'm not crazy about the skin choices. HIGHLY recommended! Updated on Jan 14, 2011

Does not do video. Neither do I. 32 bit. Fairly simple. Library is unusual. A bit too small on screen. I used Winamp for many years. Now I use this. It's worth checking out.

clean interface, lots of features, cross fade tracks, simple shuffle. no ability to show cover art other than with task bar hover. The AIMP shuffle handles a large music collection without forming preferences. I used to use RMP for this but the look was bad. The cross fade sticks mp3s together the way they were ment to be, think of Sgt. Pepper of Dark Side without the silent gaps. There are a lot of features which you can dig to, rather than have to dig through to set this program up.I have this player on all my machines and recommend it to everyone I know.

really makes your recordings come to life with the graphic EQ and then add some echo or flange and stereo effect WOW a bit difficult to get your music files organized in the player but hey we've came a long way since the 8track tape player and are spoiled DOWN LOAD IT,YOU WON'T BE SORRY!

I've been using Winamp since 1995ish, but for some reason these days when I play files with it it makes blip sounds in many of the songs. I looked around a bit and found Aimp. It functions and looks very similar to Winamp but plays perfect! For the simple propose of playing music files, I can not fine any cons. I would recommend Aimp as a replacement for Winamp or any stand alone audio player.
