AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

It needs better support for x64 operating systems. Shell extension doesn't work on those :-/. File association through application doesn't work either.

'looks fine at 1680x1250?' With a 32" monitor, yes it does...with a 17" its too little,period.

I like the skins. I love the sound quality. I am surprised how so many things can run so smoothly using a very little system resource! I'm just in love with this small sleek and sexiest media player on Windows platform... Nothing so far... Though the best sound quality I have ever achieved with my CREATIVE 4.1 Surround System comes from Windows Media Player 12 (on Windows 7) along with DFX Sound Enhancer, the AIMP2 can not be underestimated. For it requires no such DFX enhancement, yet produces a praiseworthy quality of sound with its own default plug-ins and most importantly it consumes a very little system resource with faster start-up, I would like to advise everyone to give it a try. I opine, that the age of Winamp is over and the aura of AIMP has already begun. It is a piece of dream software, a 'must-have' for everyone who leads a happy 'digital' life like me!!! Very nice player. Has almost everything except very important for me thing - WASAPI output. I do not know why it's so hard to add this option, cause XMPlay uses the same BASS library but has WASAPI output, which gives significant improvement in sound quality on Windows 7. Personally I use foobar, but I will be glad to see AIMP with that option in the future.

bravo. the only music player that is not "pumped up" with all those adds that slow down the PCs.Just install it and it is ready to use.great sound quality, professional skin, nice, and interesting adds.i love it. none so far :)

32-bit sound quality is second to none against any free player. Has almost everything I want in a free music player and then some, yet its simple to use and set up. Excellent equalizer (I think the CNET reviewer forgot to switch it on). No bloat! Wist cover art and equalizer UI could be displayed larger.

None, not worth it this media player for me was to confusing because I had problems from the start for loading my songs, I could not find where the add to library was and loading it one song at a time, now i am having problems deleting it It is not worth the trouble

Lightweight, fast startup, user-friendly UI, support additional skin, plugin & DSP, complete feature. And the best part is supporting Winamp plugin, too! Not support ASIO, yet. A pity this isn't better known. AIMP2 offer a complete feature as audio player like Audio Library, Advanced Tag Editor, Online Radio Browser, Auto Shutdown/ Timer, Replay gain, Voice remover, plugin & DSP, and other secret features. ^^

Despite a myriad of winamp plug-ins, the sound from this in its default state is noticeably clearer and better. It is fast, it does what I want and it has a super-small footprint. None that I've found so far This must've made big improvements since the last time I tried it (about 2 years ago?) because I wasn't very impressed then but I am REALLY impressed now. Just about all such programs do the same things, this just does them better. Nice job!
