AIMP 2.60.551

AIMP by Artem Izmaylov Screenshot AIMP Screenshot

AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you'll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player's main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it's easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player's functionalities.

http://aimp.ru/index.php?newlang=english ? Top right corner of the site...

If someone can point me to an English version of the site with explanations of the features in that language, I'll then evaluate it. Until then, it gets a neutral 3 because I don't understand Russian.

very light on resources, great built in crossfader, nice GUI which looks like it should be heavy but somehow is very light on resources unlike winamp5, nice library with album covers etc.. for playing music on the computer, this is a must have, and much better then itunes, foobar, winamp etc, cuz it has all the good in those players without the resource hogging... but for managing the library and copying to my 'creative zen vision m:', i still prefer mediamonkey, cuz of the ease of sorting the library and syncing to my player. but for playing music, this is a wonderful player.

This indeed is a good music player not like that AOL(Army of loser) bloated, useless, piece of crap and garbage that Winamp actually is. Congratulations and keep that way AIMP2 ;)

"The Sound" was Stan Getz' nickname ; could apply as well to AIMP. What a sound, what a player!

This is like a tie with XMPlay and Foobar, but I really like the features in this player, and it seems to run the lightest out of the three on my pc. Sometimes it loads a little slow on the first time, reminding me of Winamp, but overall this is one of the best audio players out there.

xmplay AND foobar blow this away. take your pick

I was really surprised by this. Quite a nice little player. Won't replace Winamp as my player of choice but I'm definitely keeping it as a backup.

nice player. But I wish that they would post a "Changelog" of what was fixed or added.

Light On resource , excellent sound , lots of advanced settings , easy to use , eye pleasing , winamp plugins compatible, what more can you ask for , my default player period.

If I wasn't so stuck on Foobar, this would be my player of choice. Best player after F2K

Too bad Artem, doesnt update the picture. Thats an old standard skin.

An Excellent Player with lots of nice features... Replaced my long term fav Winamp for quite some time now. Since my Russian blows, here a Link to the (Google-translated) Changelog http://translate.google....&hl=de&ie=UTF-8 Just keep in mind that it's an early BETA...if you don't want to deal with that, get the last RC (v2.11) -DG

Excellent!! Small, light on resources. Very feature rich: Mulitiple playlist support, Multiple Tag Editor, CD ripper, etc etc..... uses the same mp3 output as XMplay, so sounds brilliant. Good skin support (if you like that sort of thing) I think it's better than Foobar and Winamp and my old favourite QMP.... Runs well from as a portable app.

I have used all of the players, I will mention just the light ones Xmplay is good but lack of good playlist. FooBar has bad interface but good playlist. Aimp has everything good interface and good Playlist features ,, I recommend this program to any who love to playmusic with pleasure,,,,, I have been using it from 2.10 and I am very much statisfied with it. not to mention the converter and tag editor. notice if you have RealAlternative installed then you can convert from RealPlay to Mp3 or other format. Compatible with most of winamp plugins Aimp2 has ver good music library program etc..

Very good player, I think I will switch from other nice player... I dunno if developer is reading this, but on the URL/Radio it won't play an ASX format, will throw a "Code: 41 - unsupported file format" error. Would be excelent if this can be done! Thank you, keep up the good work!
