Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the efficient new way for professional photographers to import, select, develop, and showcase large volumes of digital images. So you can spend less time sorting and refining photographs, and more time actually shooting them. Its clean, elegant interface literally steps out of the way and lets you quickly view and work with the images you shot today, as well as the thousands of images that you will shoot over the course of your career. Because no two photographers work alike, Adobe Lightroom adapts to your workflow, not the other way around. Lightroom lets you view, zoom in, and compare photographs quickly and easily. Precise, photography-specific adjustments allow you to fine tune your images while maintaining the highest level of image quality from capture through output. And best of all, it runs on most commonly used computers, even notebook computers used on location.

LR is good, but people are right, it is overpriced. For more info, check out this link: http://www.twin-pixels.c...xo-capture-one-bibble-5/

I love everything about this application. It is much easier to use than photoshop and it does a far better job enhancing photographs. There really is nothing wrong with it. Lightroom is design with the photographer in mind. This package has the most intuitive photo correction tools, clarity adjustment, blemish remover, and the best noise reduction filter I have ever used. Lightroom is designed with the photographer in mind.

The improvement in the Import function is overlooked by the other ways Lightroom has exceeded expectations. As of today, four days after installation--none. Well worth an upgrade from LR 2; an even better deal if starting out new.

So i already had Photoshop CS5, so i wasnt sure if i could justify the extra expense of adding Lightroom 3 to my phototools, (i am a pro-photographer in a small market) but i shoot a LOT OF PHOTOGRAPHS. Like most Adobe products the learning curve is straight UP!!! But once you get into the program and try all the modules you will see the flow really works. So i already had Photoshop CS5, so i wasnt sure if i could justify the extra expense of adding Lightroom 3 to my phototools, (i am a pro-photographer in a small market) but i shoot a LOT OF PHOTOGRAPHS. Last week alone i shot almost 1,000 pictures at 3 different events. I downloaded the Lightroom 3 to try it out and IMMEDIATELY could see a big difference in the volume of work output, versus using Photoshop alone. I will DEFINITELY be purchasing this before the trial expires. Another good thing about Lightroom is the abundance of Presets out there for FREE. Try PresetHeaven.com. The speed with which you can import catalogs and actually do work on the whole catalog is worth the price of the product alone just to cut down on the amount of time spent at the computer. Of all the photo manipulation tools this has to be one of the best i have ever used.

I recently tested LR with every inyention of buying it since it was recommended by a friend who is a setious photographer, No slick interface here, in fact if you're a fan of Windows Explorer's tree structure, you'll be lucky to find your photographs. I detest the way LR manages photos. LR has some great features if you're willing to spend the time learning the obtuse interface and spend hours going through all your work tagging, editing, etcetera. The single feature I found to be almost universally great was the Auto WB button. It seldom failed to improve my images. As many have previously noted, LR is too expensive for what it offers. At the end of my 30 day trial I uninstalled it and have no intention of purchasing.
